About

About Our Firm

A good lawyer plays many roles in your family-law matter. We are your investigator, your counselor and your advocate. We take a sophisticated understanding of Illinois law and apply it to your situation to help you achieve your personal, familial and financial goals.

At Susan E. Kamman & Associates, we know that when you work with a family-law attorney, you are putting your future into the hands of that lawyer. We believe your attorney should act with the same tenacity and skill as if it were his or her own family, property and rights at stake. Susan E. Kamman offers dedicated and knowledgeable representation to every client of our firm.

Helping People Across the Region

Susan E. Kamman’s diverse cultural heritage and professional background help people from all socio-economic levels find answers to complex family-law matters, including those that involve domestic violence.

As the mother of young children, I am sensitive to the impact of family law cases on children. I truly believe that we work for our clients and want the client to be involved in every step of the decision-making process in case resolution. I have volunteered with child-abuse prevention organizations for years, believing that children are our most precious resource and deserve to be treated with respect.

While resolution of your case in an amicable manner is an important goal, our extensive experience and attention to the details of your case ensure the highest quality representation in a hearing or at trial. The financial aspects of your case can be significantly more complicated than you anticipate. We aggressively will act as your advocate in valuing any business interests, analyzing cash-flow and lifestyle, obtaining the necessary discovery documents to determine the value of the marital estate, and protecting your non-marital assets.

I have served on the Illinois State Bar Association Family Law Section Council for eight years, chairing its Child Support Subcommittee for four years, as well as the HFS Child Support Advisory Committee. I have been selected by the Leading Lawyers Network in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012, as well as by Super Lawyers in 2012, as one of the top five percent of family lawyers in Illinois. I was recognized as one of the top 100 Female Consumer Lawyers in Illinois by the Leading Lawyers Network. We take great pride in providing our clients with the highest level of expertise.
